Hand-stitched leather dog collar with name in leather with bow and arrow theme

This handcrafted leather dog collar is made and hand-stitched from start to finish with great care for function, strength, and durability. The collar is made from vegetable-tanned leather with a hand-embossed name, bow and arrow.

Materials and craftsmanship

Each collar is stitched by hand using traditional saddle stitching with waxed thread, a classic technique known for its strength and long lifespan compared to machine stitching. With saddle stitching, each stitch is mechanically locked, which means that the seam will not unravel even if a thread should, unexpectedly, wear through. The stitching is therefore not only an aesthetic choice, but a deliberate prioritisation of maximum durability and long-lasting strength.

The collars are made from Hermann Oak® leather, a renowned American vegetable-tanned leather that is regarded as some of the finest leather for handcrafted equipment. Hermann Oak® is known for its consistent quality, strength and ability to age beautifully. Over time, the leather becomes softer and more supple while retaining its shape and stability, a leather that only becomes more beautiful with use.

The buckle and D-ring are made from cast brass, a strong and durable material that develops a natural patina over time.

For additional comfort, the collar can be selected with lining. The lining is Badalassi Carlo Minerva Box® leather over a core of Plastazote®. Plastazote is used as an internal padding material and is lightweight and water-resistant, and does not absorb moisture, maintaining its shape over time. This construction provides a soft and comfortable lining against the dog’s neck, while the collar remains durable and suitable for daily use.

Ordering

The images on the product page are sample photos and show two collars in size S, one with lining and one without lining. The collar you receive is made after your order is placed and will therefore not be identical to the one shown. As each collar is handmade, small, natural variations in the leather’s structure, colour depth and finish should be expected. This is precisely what makes each collar unique.

Color choice and customization

This collar is made to order. The expected production time is 2–6 weeks, depending on the current order volume.

The collar can be made in different colour combinations, both in terms of base colour, name, motif and stitching.
