HANDMADE COLLAR & LEASH SET FOR SIGHTHOUNDS

This wide leather collar with matching leash is designed specifically for the elegant proportions of sighthounds and is handmade from premium vegetable-tanned leather from Hermann Oak® with a strong focus on function, strength, and durability.

The set shown is finished in a warm Saddle Tan color, complemented by hand-painted red details and solid brass hardware. The collar's soft, curved shape is designed to accentuate the long, slender neck characteristic of sighthounds.

Each individual product is made by hand in my workshop in Denmark.

MATERIALS & CRAFTSMANSHIP

The collar and leash are made from Hermann Oak® leather, a renowned American vegetable-tanned leather considered to be among the finest leather for handmade gear. Hermann Oak® is known for its exceptional strength, consistent quality, and ability to age beautifully.

With use, the leather gradually becomes softer and more supple, while retaining its strength and character. Over time, it develops a unique and natural patina.

All stitched parts are sewn entirely by hand using traditional saddle stitching and waxed thread. Unlike ordinary machine stitching, saddle stitching creates an extremely durable seam where each stitch is individually secured. This means the entire stitching does not simply unravel if a thread were unexpectedly to become damaged.

The stitching is therefore not only an aesthetic detail but a deliberate choice focused on strength, durability, and longevity.

The hardware is made of solid, cast brass, chosen for its strength and durability. Like the leather, brass develops a natural patina over time, adding further character to the set as it ages.

All edges are shaped, finished, and polished carefully by hand.

MADE TO ORDER

Each collar and leash set is made individually after your order has been placed.

The photos show an example of the finished design. Since genuine full-grain leather is a natural material and each product is made by hand, your set will not be completely identical to the one shown.

Small variations in the leather's texture, natural markings, color depth, and finish must be expected. These natural characteristics are part of what makes every product from Noir Hawkhide unique.

The expected production time is approx. 2–6 weeks depending on the current order volume.

COLOR & CUSTOMIZATION

The set shown is made in Saddle Tan with red details, but other color combinations can be made upon request.
