This handcrafted leather dog collar is made and hand-stitched from start to finish with great attention to function, strength, and durability. The collar is crafted from vegetable-tanned leather and features hand-twisted details that create a distinctive yet understated expression, allowing the natural structure and quality of the leather to remain the focal point.

Each collar is stitched by hand using traditional saddle stitching (hand-stitched saddle stitch) with waxed thread, a classic technique known for its exceptional strength and long lifespan compared to machine stitching. With saddle stitching, each stitch is mechanically locked, meaning the seam will not unravel even if a thread were to wear through. The stitching is therefore not merely an aesthetic choice, but a deliberate commitment to maximum durability and long-term use.

Materials and Craftsmanship
The collars are made from Hermann Oak® leather, a renowned American vegetable-tanned leather considered among the finest leathers for handcrafted equipment. Hermann Oak is known for its consistent quality, strength, and ability to age beautifully. Over time, the leather becomes softer and more supple while retaining its shape and stability — a leather that only grows more beautiful with use.

The hand-twisted details are formed directly in the leather and are an integral part of the construction, not an applied decoration. This provides both visual depth and natural flexibility in the collar without compromising strength.

Details and Fit
The buckle and D-ring are made from cast brass, a strong and durable material that develops a natural patina over time.

The images on the product page are model photos and show a collar in one specific size. The collar you receive is made to order and will therefore not be identical to the one shown. As each collar is handmade, small natural variations in the leather’s structure, color depth, and finish should be expected. This is precisely what makes each collar unique.
